Don’t Fake the Click

2 min read Ecommerce

Not everything should look clickable.

But many websites accidentally pretend.

A headline that changes color on hover.

An icon with a shadow.

A box that looks exactly like a button.

The visitor clicks.

Nothing happens.

Now there’s confusion.

And confusion is expensive.

Design is a language.

Rounded corners suggest action.Blue underlined text suggests a link.

A hover effect suggests movement.

If something isn’t clickable, it shouldn’t speak that language.

Because every false signal teaches the visitor one thing:

Don’t trust this interface.

Good design removes doubt.

Clickable things look clickable.

Everything else stays quiet.Clarity builds confidence.

And confident visitors move forward.

Clean interface. Clear signals. No fake buttons.

Have you fixed all elements on your store so they don’t look clickable when they aren’t?
