What I Wish Ecommerce Businesses Knew

Win attention fast or lose it forever

You win attention, or you lose it forever.

A lot of eCommerce brands lose the customer… before the customer even realizes they were there.

Not because your products aren’t good.
Not because your offer isn’t valuable.

That scroll. That landing page. That hero image. If it falls flat, momentum dies.

Here’s the truth most marketers won’t admit:

You don’t build momentum later. You either capture attention immediately… or you spend the rest of the session trying to recover it.

That’s why I follow what Paul Getter calls the SPARK Formula, and why elite brands ignite, instead of hoping to warm up, their audience.

S – Shock
Interrupt the scroll. Snap people out of their pattern. If they came in thinking about emails, chores, or doomscrolling, you need to yank them into your world instantly.

P – Personalize
People don’t connect to products. They connect to stories, to people, to you. Make it real. Make it human. The faster they see a reflection of themselves, the faster they lean in.

A – Anchor
If your message floats, it’s forgotten. Anchor it. Give them something they can grab and carry with them, whether it’s a promise, a benefit, or a “why you matter” statement.

R – Relate
Stop talking at your audience. Make it about them. The moment they think, “This is for me,” you’ve got their attention and loyalty.

K – Kickoff
No hesitation. No slow ramp. Launch fully into authority and value. Momentum isn’t accidental. It’s intentional.

The audience decides in the first minute: Am I buying in… or scrolling past?

Once they scroll past, you’re chasing them forever.

Your opening moment isn’t just important.
It’s everything.

SPARK isn’t just a formula. It’s the difference between being ignored… and being remembered.
